A 40-year-old West Melbourne man has been charged with multiple offences after a daylight brawl that saw a 28-year-old attacked with a box cutter, shocking shoppers at Melbourne Central.

Police said two men had to be pulled apart after the fight, that began outside a pharmacy in the CBD shopping complex, spilled onto the street about 1.30pm on Friday.
The 28-year-old victim was treated for upper body injuries and taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition. He was later discharged.
Victoria Police Detective Senior Constable Andrew White said one man was taken to hospital with a significant cut on his arm.
It is understood the two men allegedly involved in the fight knew each other.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Lee Thomson said the 40-year-old had been charged with eight offences including affray, resisting arrest, aggravated burglary and possess a control weapon.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday.
