Ashmore was selected as a priority pick and was one of the standouts Lions in the AFLW’s maiden competition.
The 25-year-old boasts an elite running capacity and outstanding foot skills, proving dangerous through the midfield and across half-forward.
Brisbane Lions Women’s CEO Breeanna Brock was extremely pleased to land Ashmore’s signature and said she was a huge asset to the club.
While Ashmore said she was excited to be a part of the Lions’ second season, saying she had really enjoyed her football at the club and believed the group was capable of going one better after losing to Adelaide in the AFLW grand final by six points.
Fellow Ballarat footballer Bree White also re-signed with Collingwood.
The AFL Women’s trade period is currently underway with plenty of conjecture around wantaway Lions marquee player Tayla Harris. The trade period ends on Friday.
