Don Davis, a 31-year-old US national, was in the small town of Axedale just east of Bendigo about 10.30am on May 23.
Police believe he may have walked into bushland.
Investigators released a photo of Mr Davis on Wednesday, following a number of possible sightings on High Street.
Bendigo Police said Mr Davis was spotted in the town as recently as Wednesday night, but have concerns for his health.
State Emergency Service volunteers searched for Mr Davis in bushland on Wednesday but were unable to find him.
He has reddish-brown hair and beard, and is described is being Caucasian in appearance, about 177 centimetres tall with a medium build.
