Sunday’s program will see eleven choirs take the stage, culminating in Sending Song of Joy which they will perform as one.
Christ Church Cathedral organist Leigh Askew will play the pipe organ in the prelude and interlude.
Organiser Margaret Lenan Ellis said she loved the non-competitive atmosphere.
”It gives an opportunity for people just to enjoy each other’s company, they enjoy listening to each other's singing and at the end when we all combine there’s a lovely spirit of camaraderie and the singing is all blended together so there’s no one distinction between any specific choir,” she said.
“The choirs are different in their music ability and there’s a big difference in ages but everybody is united in their love for singing.”
The Ballarat Choral Festival is on at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, May 28 from 1.30pm. The event is free and open to all.
