Adam Troy Sandlant appeared in the docks at Ballarat Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon, flanked by three police officers.
Sandlant was arrested in Wendouree on Thursday morning and charged with one offence.
Court documents obtained by The Courier show Sandlant is charged with “recklessly engage in conduct intentionally driving a vehicle into a moving police vehicle that placed a person/s in danger of serious injury”.
Defence lawyer Maddie Carroll said Sandland wanted a straight remand and would make a bail application on July 12.
She said her client was experiencing a withdrawal from drugs and alcohol.
Sandlant was dressed in a blue plain jumper and dark pants.
His hair was not styled in a mohawk like the image released by police on Wednesday.
Sandlant was led back into custody after the brief hearing.
He will return to court on July 12.
THURSDAY, 11.15am: Police have just announced that they have arrested Adam Sandlant.
The arrest, which occurred in Wendouree, was announced via Twitter this morning.
Police have not announced any charges as yet.
