An inmate has been taken to hospital after being assaulted inside Loddon Prison, north-west of Melbourne on Saturday.

Police are investigating after the 39-year-old man was injured shortly after 5pm.
A Corrections Victoria spokesman confirmed that a prisoner had been treated for minor injuries, and said police were investigating as was standard practice.
The circumstances of the assault are not currently known.
"Police are investigating following an assault at a correctional facility in Castlemaine just after 5pm," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
"A 39-year-old man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries."
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said the man suffered an injury to his upper body.
He was taken to Bendigo Hospital and is in a stable condition.
The medium-security prison was placed in lockdown in February after a prisoner climbed onto a roof.
Underworld figure Hizir Ferman?????? died at the prison last July after being forcibly removed from his cell following a brawl involving two guards.
