Coach Travis Hodgson said the Cobras had not committed to landing a late recruit.
“We’re keeping our options open and seeing if there’s anyone suitable available.
“It would have to be the right fit for the team and the club.”
Bacchus Marsh is looking for a second spearhead to play alongside Jarrah Maksymow.
The Cobras had the Damian Cupido and Maksymow as major targets in attack last season, with the support of Cam Richardson.
Without Cupido and Richardson, Bacchus Marsh has been using recruit Dean Heta up forward on a part-time basis – mixing it with time in the ruck and on occasions as an extra tall in defence.
Makysmow is its leading goalkicker with 28 in seven games. Declan Phyland (13) and Hamish Colton (12) are next best.
Hodgson is not adverse to securing late recruits in his two years with the Cobras.
He snapped up Cupido and Maksymow after the start of last season – moves critical to landing the Cobras’ first BFL flag.
Meanwhile, Cupido has left Bairnsdale in the Gippsland league and joined Eastern league club East Burwood.
Cupido, who lives in Shepparton, was leading the GFL goalkicking with 35, including 19 in the past three rounds. He was cleared earlier this week.
