A $3.3 million state government will fun upgrades for the facility, which was originally built 23 years ago.
BCH chief executive officer Robyn Reeve said planning was still underway on details but the organisation was hopeful to get a result similar to BCH’s Sebastopol base, which relaunched a year ago.
Upgrades at Sebastopol opened up space and modernised the facility with the latest technology.
“Wendouree is a very busy site. It has our busiest GP (general practice) clinic and there is also podiatry, community health programs as well as maternal child and health services,” Ms Reeve said.
“It will be so fabulous to have a refurbishment.”
Funding for the Wendouree redevelopment were part of a $9.8 million state government boost to improve community health service infrastructure in meeting growing patient demand.
