The Farmers Arms Hotel in Creswick has become somewhat of an institution - a pub that focuses on relationships with its local farmers, with a philosophy of paddock to plate.

Not only do they do all their own butchery onsite, but they also cure meats for their charcuterie plates and age beef argies for their steak menu.

Due to the high calibre of food coming from the kitchen, the Farmers Arms has been invited to prepare tasty offerings for guests at the Red Series.

The menu for the event has been designed to complement the premium wines on offer, showcasing some of the best quality produce from the region.

Enjoy Millbrook free-range Berkshire pig terrine with pickled vegetables; chicken liver parfait with quince jelly and Basilio sourdough; or Daylesford Meat Co beef short ribs with mashed Mt Pleasant potatoes and Central Highland mustard leaves.

What they are achieving at the Farmers Arms Hotel is better than some of Melbourne’s best gastropubs and restaurants, so why is Creswick so fortunate?

The answer is simple. The owners run the Perfect Drop in Daylesford, a fine dining restaurant, and wanted something closer to their home in Creswick. Now they have both which keeps them busy and diners happy.

Running the kitchen is executive chef Hugh Maxwell and he oversees both venues with a passion for local and premium produce.

It reopened a year and a half ago after intensive renovations which resulted in a beautiful pub with a grand concrete bar, large open spaces, Chesterfield lounges for sipping a nice glass of wine, high tables in the bar area, a local’s bar and a stunning dining room.

The wine list features a great range of top local drops by the glass at affordable prices. Main meals range from $22-$34, which is great considering the produce and range.

The Farmers Arms Hotel has now become one of the region’s best pubs, resulting in day trippers coming from afar to enjoy its surroundings and meals. Be sure you head to the Red Series to sample the great regional produce that the Farmers Arms has become known for.
