Wearing only his underwear, Carl Murray, 27, drove to the victim’s Gillies Street house on November 17, 2016 in a Honda vehicle, the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court was told on Thursday.
Leading Senior Constable Steve Kent said Murray drove up the driveway and collided with a Toyota Yaris, causing a dent.
He said Murray then pushed the Yaris through a gate and drove into the yard where the victim was with her two-year-old daughter. He pushed the Yaris five meters along the driveway.
Murray told the victim to tell two other men to stay away from his girlfriend before leaving in his car.
The victim told police her daughter had been playing where the Yaris was parked a few minutes before the incident.
Murray disputed he went to the Gillies Street property, but after receiving a sentence indication from magistrate Ann Collins, he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He also pleaded guilty to kicking a man then stealing his tools, valued at $4000, on May 16, 2017.
The court was told Murray and a co-accused went to a Miners Rest address where the co-accused allegedly accused the victim of texting his girlfriend before punching him four times.
Senior Constable Steve Kent said the victim fell back and Murray kicked him to the head, then stole his tools from inside his car.
Defence lawyer Manny Brennan said his client disputed he kicked the victim, but wanted to resolve the case.
The court was told Murray’s offending had contravened a community corrections order, which included 250 hours of unpaid community work.
Ms Collins adjourned sentence to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 20 for judicial monitoring. She told Murray it was serious offending.
The prosecution dropped theft charges following Murray’s guilty plea.
