Fresh off a breakthrough win, often with teams bereft of success a let-down can occur following the taste of its desired result.
The Roosters host Richmond, the side that inflicted a 188-point round 1 belting on them, at 11am on Sunday.
But Greig felt that would not be the case with his group, and said the 26-point win over Northern Blues would instil confidence and belief in its ability and the gameplan.
"We're not wary of it...I just explained to the boys, particularly a lot of the younger ones, what did you actually have to do that was really hard for us last week to get the first win? We didn't have to do that much hard or different, we were just consistent for four quarters,” Greig said.
"We didn't do anything remarkable last week, but it got us our first victory. It doesn't take you to do something unbelievable to get us the win, you've just got to do what's expected of you.
"We just want to be reliable, that's what got us the first win and that's what will get us the second win or at least give us the opportunities.
“We're close most weeks, so they know that it's working but to actually have that win, it just gives them that extra confidence...hopefully the win helps them understand further.”
Despite the thumping handed out to the Roosters in round 1, Greig said there would not be a heavy focus on the opposition. Greig understands the strong unit the Tigers are, but felt he it was more important to focus on its young group – as it has done in recent weeks.
"Because their AFL team's going so well, their VFL team is going well...we still talk about the opposition, but just briefly, we want to harp on what we're doing.”
Richmond will be without key forward Ben Griffiths who dislocated his shoulder.
The match will also help raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation. The Roosters players will wear DonateLife branded jumpers and wear magenta socks to begin DonateLife week. There will be information available on the day in a bid to increase registered donors.
