Division one coach Kim Bailey is expecting an improvement on the previous time the two sides met, which resulted in the Sovereign’s only draw of the season.
“We’ve had a big improvement since then in regards to ball movement and defensive set up so I think it will be a different game,” she said.
“We don’t want to go into the finals with another loss, so we will be working really hard to avenge that loss (to Geelong) from last week.”
The team’s focuses for Wednesday’s night game at the State Netball and Hockey Centre include putting pressure on the attackers and hunting the ball.
Bailey said the squad was excited to be playing finals and hoped to go further than just the first week.
Meanwhile in championship competition, the Sovereigns will play their final game of the season against fifth-placed Boorondara.
Sovereigns sit in ninth position on the ladder.
