“Up The Guts was conceived in 2016 by two mates - Jimmy Clarke and Jack Parsons. The project was brought about from a bit of folklore about the incredible experiences open to musicians who took a punt and toured through the red centre,” Up the Guts’ Hugo Dean said.
“Midnight Oil's 'Blackfella Whitefella Tour' in the 1980’s was another big influence on the idea. Jack wanted to give it a crack and James pretty much figured out how to make it happen and helped come up with the idea of hosting workshops in regional schools along the way.”
The project aims to encourage musicians to tour in regional areas with high quality gigs, as well as encouraging people in regional areas to pick up an instrument.
Doors open at 8:30pm and $12 tickets are available at karovalounge.com/show/up-the-guts/.
