Box Hill United will host the Ballarat boys this weekend sitting just three points clear of the bottom-placed Eastern Lions on the National Premier Leagues Victoria 2 east division table.
Gnjidic said “the form guide goes out the window” against teams that are desperate late in the season and was wary of the threat Box Hill United posed to his side.
After having last weekend off, Ballarat City heads into this game rejuvenated and ready to attack the last three rounds of the campaign.
The team is currently fifth on the west division table and can climb no higher than fourth.
Gnjidic said he hoped to finish the season strongly and added that every competitive game was important for the young players within the squad.
Among those are Josh De Voogel, Jake Francis and Michael Mullins – all players Gnjidic expected to start in Saturday’s clash at Wembley Park.
The visiting team will be missing some experienced personnel for the game, with Liam Harding and Shaun Romein both sidelined through suspension.
Following Saturday’s fixture, Ballarat will plan for Melbourne Victory the following weekend.
