Blazko notched up an enviable feat of polling in every match, the umpires seeing the talented midfielder in the best two players on the ground in every game, including 12 best on ground performances.
Buninyong's Nick Pantzidis polled the second highest number of votes with 31, Hepburn's Jimmy Wallesz finished two votes further back with 29 while Skipton's Blake Scott (27 votes) and Carngham-Linton's Logan Hayles (25 votes) rounded out the top five.
Coming into the night, Blazko did not know what to expect but it quickly became apparent he would feature heavily throughout the night’s count. The young gun now turning his attention to Gordon’s finals campaign.
“I just try and help lift the team up and get them to their highest level,” Blazko said.
In the under-18 vote count, Hepburn's Bryce Coffey triumphed with 28 votes, five clear of teammate Hayden Rodgers while Learmonth’s Jack Treweek finalised the podium with 19 votes.
The Hepburn duo clearly being a big reason for Hepburn’s undefeated year so far.
Coffey posted seven best on ground performances as well as polling in four other matches.
Coffey said the award came as a big surprise to him. The goal-kicking midfielder felt many of his teammates would poll plenty of votes, while some did, Coffey was the most prolific.
“It came as a shock, a good one though,” Coffey said.
“I thought a lot of my teammates would take votes so I didn’t see this coming.”
A beneficiary of a dominant under-18 Hepburn side was spearhead Alister Ferrier. Ferrier kicked 113 goals from his 15 games this season. Ferrier had a somewhat slow start to the year given his damaging finish, he had 16 goals from his first five matches before finding touch with a bag of 10 in round eight. Ferrier ended the season in stunning form, kicking 64 goals in his final five matches including a haul of 17 against the Saints.
While in the under-15 competition, Carngham-Linton’s Connor Palmer won the goal-kicking award with 60 majors for the season. Palmer played 16 games for the year and was not once kept goalless.
The AFL Goldfields junior community coach award went to Creswick’s Phil Judd.
GWV Rebels star and AFL draftee hopeful Callan Wellings was the guest speaker on the night.
