Matthew Catterson, Josh Hawkes, Ryan Anderson, Sam Williams, Micah Poole Justin Bleicher, Natasha Typuszak, Karla Treweek, Angela Williams and Lily Gilbert claimed the titles on a Federation University circuit on Saturday.
Eureka’s Jesse Fullerton (nine minutes, 28 seconds) and YCW’s Louise Wood (11:18) produced the fastest legs in the top divisions.
However, with three under-18 and two under-16 athletes, the young Wendouree combination of Williams, Catterson, Hawkes, Anderson, Poole and Bleicher were too strong in the men’s event.
All five posted times ranked in the top 15 for the day to finish 11 seconds ahead of the fast-finishing YCW.
Training partners Gilbert and Williams teamed up with Treweek and Typuszak for Wendouree to hit the line one minute clear of Ballarat Harriers.
YCW took out men’s division two and 50-plus, while Wendouree also won the 40-plus, under-18 and under-16 divisions.
Harriers won the under-14 boys and Eureka was first to cross the line in the under-14 girls.
The four BRAC clubs had 98 runners making up 27 teams, with each athlete completing two laps of a muddy 1500m loop.
