The previous time the two teams met on Ballarat’s home turf, the Strikers went down by five goals.
But the team has since been bolstered by the return of some scoring power in Lisie Dodds.
The forward was kept out of the line up for months with a knee injury.
The Strikers have also benefited from the emergence of youngster Sarah Dalgleish, who scored her third goal in four games last weekend.
The Strikers currently sit in ninth position on the ladder with one win, four draws and 11 losses so far this season.
The team is just two points ahead of bottom-placed Lara United as it fights to remain in state league one.
Strikers coach Laura Brady has said while the bottom two sides are relegated from the competition each year, if University of Melbourne was able to remain inside the top two in state league two, it would mean only one team would face the drop at the end of the season.
However, the Strikers have a tough end to the season.
They were defeated by the University of Melbourne, which is top of the ladder, last weekend, while they will close out the year with a trip to take on Melbourne Knights, which currently sits in fifth.
Defence will be key for the Strikers after conceding nine goals to University of Melbourne last weekend.
Once the defensive effort is in place, Ballarat will be able to launch its attack.
