The school’s debutante ball had over 36 couples making their debut at the Farm Campus in Norman Street.
The year 11 and 12 students trained and prepared for eight weeks in the lead up to the event and on the night performed four dances.
All hair and make up for debutantes was taken care of by the school’s salon.
Ballarat Specialist School Leading teacher Matt Gannon, who organised the event with Angela Fry said the it ran smoothly.
“To say it went off without a hitch is an understatement,” he said.
“It was a sensational night, the biggest night in terms of students and guests that we’ve ever had for a deb. The kids were exceptional. They really fitted the part.”
The event saw entertainment provided by the schools own bands, with three senior school bands performing punk, classic rock, punk and new age. Mr Gannon said 270 guests turned up to the ball and 60 staff helped with the preparations.
