He’s been waiting for well over a decade, in fact.
But the day will finally arrive on Saturday, with the 32-year-old one of the elder statesmen in a Beaufort side that has reached the club’s first senior decider since 2002.
Trigg enjoyed success as a junior with the Crows, playing in under-15 and under-18 premierships with the club. But since graduating to the senior ranks – the year after Beaufort’s last appearance on the big stage – the highs have been limited.
The key defender is confident of victory against Hepburn on Saturday.
“Our side and the structures Browny (coach Rohan Brown) and that have put in place, we think we can beat anyone and that gives us a lot of confidence going into any game,” Trigg said.
Chris Drew and Damien Day are the only current players that were part of Beaufort’s 2002 grand final loss to Buninyong.
