White has not been beaten in tournament play in 16 years - an unbelievable record.
White was widely-tipped to take out the event but had to overcome a number of strong opponents in the 142-player field, none more so than Victorian Grand Pix Circuit champion Steve Andrewartha, who met White in the final. White winning 21-13, 21-17.
In the women's open event, Caulfield's Kristel Proctor overcame a slow start to defeat Sue Dunlop 21-16, 21-11.
Ballarat's Blake Caspersz was one of the best performed locals, winning his fifth Grand Prix C grade singles title for 2017. While Ballarat’s Lee Greenwood and Ricki McGinley battled it out for the junior boys title, Greenwood prevailing in three sets.
