The Two Blues backed up their round one win over Sebastopol with a 93-86 triumph against Buninyong on Saturday.
Ballarat East took out all four rinks against last season’s relegated premier side, which was playing on its home greens.
The result leaves the Two Blues clear on top of the Ballarat District Bowls Division ladder.
Ballarat East president Greg Stewart, who plays in the division one side, said it was good to defeat Buninyong, which beat the Two Blues in the grand final two seasons ago.
“We’ve always had good tight tussles with Buninyong,” he said.
“We looked forward to it and as it turned out in the end, it was a really tough day.”
Stewart said it had been a great start to the new campaign, particularly given the loss of key player Grant Bourke from the 2016-17 side that was beaten in an elimination final.
“A couple of blokes have stepped up from the division four side so it’s a bit of a different look side, but credit where credit is due,” he said.
“All the boys were pretty keen to have a good year and start the year off well and the first two weeks have been really good.”
Ballarat East will look to continue its unbeaten run in round three when it hosts Webbcona.
Webbcona is still winless after going down by 36 shots in Saturday’s encounter with City Oval.
Ballarat East sits just one point clear at the top of the ladder, with Central Wendouree nipping at its heals following the weekend’s victory against Learmonth.
Ballarat is third after a big win in the game against Creswick, while Mt Xavier claimed its first success of the new campaign, prevailing over Sebastopol.
