Ballarat basketball rising star Georgia Amoore has arrived in India with the Australian Sapphires in readiness for the FIBA Women’s Under-16 Asia Cup.

Australia is one of eight countries contesting the tournament and meets New Zealand in the opening game of the on Sunday.
Amoore, who plays with Ballarat Rush in the SEABL, said this was something she had been working hard for a long time.
She said early morning training sessions at the Minerdome and being able to compete against talented players in the Rush program had been a great preparation.
Ballarat Basketball athlete and coach manager Nathan Cooper-Brown said it had been a joy watching Amoore develop.
“She has truly dedicated herself to her game and I couldn’t be prouder of her. She’ll give herself every opportunity to earn minutes and be successful.”
Cooper-Brown will also shortly represent Australian internationally as an assistant coach in the men’s under-16 Asia Cup.
