He will renew his on-field association with Dan Roy in his move to the Ballarat Football League.
They played alongside each other at Aspley in the QAFL in 2010.
Darley coach Heath Scotland said Reid, 28, stood at 199cm and would play as a ruckman/forward.
He will add experience to a ruck division, which was led by a developing Abe Cameron for most of the season.
Abe Kur took over after Cameron injured a shoulder in the last home and away round and played in the premiership team.
Reid played 13 VFL games with Werribee Tigers in 2015 before spending the past two seasons with Pascoe Vale in the Essendon District league premier division.
He played 15 senior games in 2016, but was limited to seven appearances this year – making him open to a change of environment and the move to Darley.
