Tributes flow for two killed in head-on crash

TRIBUTES have flowed in for two men killed in a head-on collision on Wednesday night.Gregory Wade, 48, and Harley Jennings, 27, died after their vehicles collided on the Glenelg Hwy at Smythes Creek.In a tragic twist the men were colleagues at MaxiTRANS Ballarat.Messages of sympathy and grief have flowed in from friends, family, co-workers and businesses affected by the tragedy.Jeff Ingles said he used to organise BMX events and Mr Jennings was a strong competitor."He was one of Ballarat's best BMX riders," he said."The kids would look up to him, and he provided encouragement to them to do better. "He was a likeable person, always joking."MaxiTRANS manufacturing general manager Glen Walker said both men would be missed."MaxiTRANS and its employees in Ballarat were devastated to learn of the untimely passing of Greg and Harley," he said."We are a closeknit family and many of us are grieving. "They were valued members of our team whose friendship and camaraderie will be sorely missed."Our deepest sympathies are extended to their families and loved ones."In other messages colleagues reflected on their friendship with the two men."It was a pleasure to have known you Greg," one said.In another a colleagues from the "kitting crew" wrote: "Deepest sympathies to the Wade family on the loss of a good bloke who will be sadly missed."Investigations into the accident are continuing.
