A 36-year-old worker had been clearing shelves about 2am when the man attended the store.
The attendant allowed the man inside to serve him, when he pulled a mask over his face and produced a gun.
The worker surrendered the till, which “contained a small amount of cash”, according to police.
The man took the till and shoved it into a black backpack before fleeing on a grey mountain bike.
He has been described as Caucasian and about 170cm tall, and was wearing a black beanie, black jacket and black pants.
The investigation is ongoing.
