Jo-Anne George, 57, said she paid $204 for floor tickets to see Nicks perform at Rod Laver Arena last Thursday, only to be kicked out by security halfway through the Fleetwood Mac megastar's set for getting up from her seat.

Ms George said there were no issues earlier in the night when she was dancing in the aisle with around 20 or so others while support act Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders played.

But when Nicks took to the stage and launched into her catalogue of hits including Stop Draggin' My Heart Around and Dreams, Ms George said she was asked to stop dancing.

"The security came up about three times and told me to sit down," she said.

After another patron gave her a spare seat, Ms George said she would stand up to dance when a song came on and then sit down again.

"The next minute three of them had me and were dragging me along the floor of the aisle. They threw me out of the stadium," she said.

"I have never been so humiliated in my life. I was assaulted and treated like a criminal."

The Kew woman said the incident had left her with a sore back and bruises on her arm. She also said she it had caused her to feel depressed and anxious.

The security didn't ask if she had any health conditions before physically grabbing her, she said.

"It was just bizarre and totally uncalled for and very aggressive," she said.

"I understand some people don't want to dance but everyone is entitled to enjoy it the way they want."

Ms George said she hadn't had an issue with standing up during other nostalgia acts like Rod Stewart at Hanging Rock and Bruce Springsteen at AAMI Park.

This was the first time she had been told not dance, she said.

"I've paid for a ticket I want to dance. I'm only 5'5, it's not like I'm 6'7or anything," she said.

"All I wanted to do was dance."

Melbourne & Olympic Parks, the management of Rod Laver Arena, confirmed a woman was ejected from the concert for leaving her allocated seat and causing disruption to other patrons.

"The individual was asked to return to her seat a number of times and after failing to cooperate was ejected," the spokesperson said.

Ms George said venues should stipulate if patrons aren't allowed to stand up at a show before selling a ticket. She wouldn't bother going if that was the case.

"I love Fleetwood Mac and I've never seen Stevie Nicks so I was excited," she said.

"I don't know what's happening with Melbourne if you can't dance anymore. I just don't know what's going on."
