Ballarat Botanical Gardens’ floral clock has been restored to its former glory and once again takes pride of place on Wendouree Parade.
Ballarat City Council staff have been busy planting new flowers to give the clock a fresh look.
A modern mechanism has also be installed, so staff do not have to crawl through a narrow space beneath it for repairs.
The clock was first placed on Sturt Street in 1954.
Mayor Francis Cutts of the former Greater Ballaarat City presented the clock to Queen Elizabeth II during a visit she made to the city following her coronation.
It was then moved to the botanical gardens, on Wendouree Parade in 1980.
The clock hands were removed after vandals used them to damage the gardens in the early 2000s.
Its restoration has been part of major works to refurbish the botanical gardens for its 160-year celebrations.
The Claxton fountain at the fernery was also restored.
