The premise of Plate Up Ballarat is to connect food and beverage producers of the region with chefs, restaurants and cafes.
“Ballarat boasts friendly, A+ service and incredibly talented chefs, serving up exceptional culinary experiences,” event director Kate Davis says.
“Our burgeoning food scene will put Plate Up Ballarat on the map, literally. There has never been a better time to promote the sophisticated regional dining alternatives on offer.”
Part of the event will be a pie competition, encouraging entrants to source the best ingredients that can be found in the region in an effort to create a singularly Ballarat-inspired baked dish.
Visit Ballarat CEO Noel Dempsey says Plate Up Ballarat will shine a light on the city’s culinary offerings.
“It will certainly make our city irresistible to visit and inspiring to return to,” said Dempsey
