Christmas magic will descend on Buninyong this Saturday for the annual Community Carols service.

Headline act Geoffrey Williams will entertain with O Come All Ye Faithful and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

“One small thing I remember about Christmas is listening to Nat King Cole, and I heard his version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen which I loved,” Mr Williams said.

“His voice is synonymous with Christmas for me, so singing a song that I know he sung, I’m quite looking forward to it.”

The festivities start at 5.30pm in DeSoza Park on December 9, with a Lions Club barbecue and craft activities for the kids. The carols will begin at 7.30pm.

Buninyong Community Carols MC Scott Bedggood said the event was a coming together of different segments of the community.

“Everyone in the area attends, it is the big social gathering and get together for the year,” he said.

Performers include folk musician Simon Carroll, theatre personality Meaghan Sullivan and the Sing Australia choir.

Proceeds will be donated to the 3BA Christmas Appeal.
