Construction work will begin late January to add a second kindergarten room, expand bathroom facilities, build a new entrance area and increase the amount of storage space in the 55-year-old kindergarten.
The $750,000 upgrade will double the number of kindergarten places from 33 to 66 when the project is complete late next year.
Children are expected to begin using the new space from the start of term four.
“This expansion will be great news for local families in Mount Pleasant doubling the capacity here, providing more early childhood services in the area,” said Buninyong MP Geoff Howard.
“We want every child to have the best start in their schooling, with access to quality early childhood services to begin lifelong learning.”
