The Kookaburras stunned City Oval to claim their first win of the campaign last Saturday and will be out to make it two triumphs in as many weeks when they host Ballarat East this weekend.
“We weren’t that far away, we were just trying to sort it all out,” Morris said of the team’s slow start to the season.
“And unfortunately it just took a bit of time.
“Now that we’ve got one win on the board, the second one might not be that far away.”
This Saturday is the first of the reverse fixtures in the division one weekend pennant competition, with Sebastopol looking to switch the result from the round one encounter with Ballarat East.
The Two Blues won the early-season match by 29 shots.
Morris said he felt the Kookaburras were capable of success this Saturday afternoon.
If successful, the Sebastopol side could jump off the bottom of the ladder.
The Kookaburras are currently last, but just eight points behind ninth-placed Webbcona.
Ballarat East sits fourth following last weekend’s win over Mt Xavier.
In the final round of Ballarat District Bowls Division weekend pennant action before Christmas, top side Ballarat will be hoping to bounce back from a heavy defeat when it hosts Mt Xavier on Saturday.
The Ballarat side was thumped by second-placed Central Wendouree last outing and has had its lead at the summit trimmed to four points as a result.
Central Wendouree has a showdown with Creswick to plan for this weekend, last season’s premier sides Buninyong and City Oval are set to meet, while Webbcona and Learmonth lock horns in the other round 10 battle.
In the Geelong-Ballarat Premier Bowls competition, Sebastopol will look to get back on track when it heads down the road to take on bottom team City of Geelong.
The Kookaburras slipped to fourth on the ladder with last weekend’s loss to Victoria, which jumped to third.
City of Geelong is still winless in 2017-18.
Elsewhere, the Vics have a clash against top side Bareena this Saturday. Bareena landed an eight-shot win when the teams last met in round one, but faces a tougher assignment travelling to Ballarat.
After getting back to winning ways last round, BMS has a clash with Lara to plan for, while Webbcona has to make the trip to Ocean Grove. The last game of the round will see Eastern Park host Queenscliff.
