The convenience of online shopping continues to attract Ballarat, growing by about 21.8 per cent in the past six months compared to the same period in 2016, according to Australia Post.
The most popular online items purchased for the Ballarat region have been health and beauty products, which have grown by 27 per cent.
Meanwhile, online book sales have increased by about 24.5 per cent and fashion was up 23 per cent.
Monday marked the biggest delivery day in Australia Post’s history with 2.5 million parcels delivered ahead of Christmas.
Since early October, the company has experienced an unprecedented number of parcels with people opting to have their Christmas shopping delivered to the door.
Overall homewares, appliances, toys and games, and fashion were among the top categories of items being bought online Australia wide.
