The year nine Ballarat High School student will cut her golden pony tail with scissors before her dad shaves her hair in front of family and friends on Saturday as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.
She will be holding the hand of her mum Iris Blobel and older sister, a moment which will bring back emotional memories for Mrs Blobel.
Over a year ago she held her daughter’s hand while her husband shaved her hair after being treated for breast cancer.
“I am a little bit wary in a selfish way because it will bring back memories, but I am so proud of her,” she said.
“I can remember when my husband had to shave my hair off after the first treatment. Us three girls were all crying. Once you have no hair it becomes obvious. Before you were just sick.
Seeing her with no hair will bring back memories as to what it represents.

Mrs Blobel is now clear of breast cancer, after first being diagnosed in October 2016.
Tara was inspired to do the shave and raise funds for the Lukemia Foundation, with a desire to give back to the foundations that help people with cancer.
“It was very tough when mum had cancer, always having your mum in bed,” she said.
Tara has so far raised over $1000 by door knocking and the support of family and friends.
