Naturally, Ballarat’s strong campaign saw it take out the overall title. Given the success, Ballarat made-up five of the 10 All-Star players.
Dean Mattei (220 average), Mark Woodyatt (210), Sonja Curtain (202), Sam Davis (201) and Sarah Newman (198) all playing starring roles for the host region.
Woodyatt said he was confident ahead of the tournament.
“I had a good feeling coming into this years tournament, the team was strong and we were on our home ground,” Woodyatt said.

“We have worked really hard coming into the tournament and after seeing the women come first last year, we really wanted to step up and match their efforts.
“For me, winning Country Cup has been a career goal. It’s a little surreal at the moment, but I love the feeling.
“I couldn’t be prouder of Team Ballarat (women’s and men’s combined) this year.”
