FOOTY finals fever has taken hold of the Hepburn Shire with the Hepburn Kookaburras set to take on the Clunes Magpies in the Central Highlands Football League grand final today.
Team colours are adorning shopfronts in both townships and one-eyed supporters said they were assured of their respective team's success.
Hepburn went into the finals on top of the ladder and Clunes came from the fifth spot and won three finals to make it to the league's biggest game of the year.
While the weather bureau has predicted hail and snow flurries for Ballarat today, supporters said they wouldn't be deterred from attending the game.
Four buses have been organised to take supporters from Hepburn Springs and Daylesford to the match.
Hepburn Kookaburras' player and apprentice butcher Nev Purtell said the damp weather would benefit his side.
"The weather is in our favour. We're a hard running side and we like a physical challenge," he said.
But the township of Clunes has other ideas.
"We're going to win," said Clunes resident Lawrie Steart.
"Clunes has played very well the last three games ... they've got here with team spirit and good football."
Clunes Family Hairdressers owner Veronica Mookhoek and Clunes newsagent Ken Gibson have both decorated their shopfronts with black and white streamers and balloons.
"In small country towns there's always a lot of support for our football teams," Mr Gibson said.
"And we always like to beat Hepburn."
The game will start at 2.15pm at Ballarat's Northern Oval.
