On April 28 in 1990, a Sebastopol man narrowly escaped injury when the Mitsubishi Magna sedan he was driving exploded in flames in Albert Street.
The driver Max Cornish managed to jump clear seconds before the car was engulfed in flames.
Mr Cornish had just left the Finco Road Pantry in Albert Street to fill up with fuel, when he noticed the back of his car was on fire.
He then jumped out of the car before it burst into flames.
