THREE Heritage Weekend patrons were hit by a police car on Sturt Street on Sunday afternoon.
A man and boy were taken to Ballarat Base Hospital and a girl was treated at the scene by paramedics.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police were looking into the incident.
“A police vehicle collided with three pedestrians at low speed,” she said.
“A man and boy were taken to hospital with minor injuries, and the girl was not taken to hospital.”
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said paramedics received the call at 3.33pm. He confirmed two people were taken to the Ballarat Base Hospital – a man in his 40s with head and leg injuries, and a young boy aged about seven with a head injury and cuts and abrasions.
Both were reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
The incident occurred on the corner of Sturt and Lydiard streets, on the southern side of Sturt Street.
A police divisional van, heading west along Sturt Street, appeared to have collided with the small group.
Two lanes of Sturt Street were closed for at least an hour.
