The Eureka Pool has officially opened today after months of maintenance work delayed frustrated patrons accessing the water through the beginning of summer.

A major leak requiring costly repairs was found earlier this year and Ballarat City Council approved a $400,000 fix at a general meeting in September.
While the pool was expected to be open before Christmas, the finishing works took longer than Council first expected.
A statement released on council’s website in mid-December said the leak was fixed, but the pool had to be cured before it was refilled.
