BALLARAT’S Tim ‘the tool man’ Taylor will represent Australia in Germany next year at the WorldSkills International. Competing in the automotive technology section, Mr Taylor has already won a silver medal in the regional competitions in 2009 in Ballarat, and then went on to claim the national gold medal last year.

The 20 year old said he took on the WorldSkills journey for the challenge that it brings.
“I like being able to push myself as a tradesmen and it has provided great foundations for my future in this industry,” he said.
However, Mr Taylor realises the biggest challenge is yet to come when he represents Australia in Leipzig, Germany.
“The opportunity to go overseas and represent Australia as a mechanic is pretty rare. I am really excited but there is a lot of work to do yet,” he said.
Currently working at Ararat Auto and Ag services, the Skillaroo has already started his training at Ballarat Audi with the help of former Skillaroo Romain Marteau, who placed sixth in last year’s international competition.
