On Saturday, Ms Hustwaite and Melbourne youth worker Marty Smiley will go head to head in the grand final of the Channel V Presenter Search 2012.
“I am so excited — the past three weeks have been surreal and it’s going to be just crazy in Sydney all this week,” she said yesterday.
The 21-year-old has already beaten almost 6000 other entrants eager to become part of the Channel V team and despite no TV experience, competition organisers say she has proven to be a complete natural.
“I really don’t know how I have come this far but I must have done OK, and everyone in Ballarat and Melbourne has been so encouraging and supportive.
“Marty is going to be tough competition but I think I can pull out the big guns and try and swing it my way,” she said.
The pair will spend the week being put through their paces by completing challenges and attending red-carpet events.
Ms Hustwaite said the social media element of the competition was one of her strengths against Mr Smiley.
The announcement of the competition’s winner will take place this Saturday at 10.30am.
