Whether our readers were down at the lake or cooking up a backyard barbeque around the home, they were certainly getting into the Aussie sprit.
The winner of last week’s ‘Show us your Australia Day’ assignment Paula Dwyer snapped her daughter Isabella, 10, dressing up in her favourite Australian-themed gear.
“We usually do the fireworks but I worked the long weekend so we celebrated the day before Australia Day,” Ms Dwyer said.
They even shared some delicious lamingtons for the occasion.
She said Isabella, who is in Year 5 at St Francis Xavier Primary School, loved dressing at every opportunity.
In fact, she last wore her ‘Australia’ outfit to the Australian Open.
Other submitted pictures showed families getting creative with face paint, while the annual fireworks on Lake Wendouree made for some spectacular photos.
In the spirit of that great tradition, the Aussie barbeque, Ms Dywer wins a $30 voucher from Latrobe St Mega Meats for her efforts.
