Will and Kate, two young black swans, were both born at the Ballarat Wildlife Park and rarely leave each other’s side.
Black swans are monogamous creatures with a divorce rate of about 6 per cent, according to Ballarat Wildlife Park.
And these lovebirds look set to be no exception.
The nine-month-olds (or teenagers in human years) shared a kiss to mark their first Valentine’s Day together.
Park manager Stuart Parker said Will and Kate had made what looked to be a long-term commitment.
“Many of our koalas and wombats at the park enjoy a cuddle and aren’t fussy who that might be with,” Mr Parker said.
“But these two swans only have eyes for one another.”
