An unbeaten century by Matt Goonan helped the Mounties pass the Lions' earlier total of 212 with five wickets in hand at University of Ballarat
The win leaves Mt Clear third on the ladder, 10 points and percentage clear of fifth-placed Brown Hill moving into the last round of the home and away season.
Goonan's 110 not out was the catalyst behind the victory, as was a 107-run stand between the Melbourne Country Week captain and all-rounder Darren Fletcher (54), which took the home side from 5-114 to 6-221.
Darley remains seven points ahead of the Bulls and Golden Point, which need an outright to have any hope of a finals berth next round.
Brown Hill fell short of outright success against Coronet City, but did bag first innings points at Ballarat Grammar 2.
The Bulls dismissed the City boys a second time but ran out of overs to haul in the remaining runs.
Wendouree had little trouble defending its score of 401, rolling hosts North Ballarat for 95 and then returning to the crease to greet stumps at 1-52, East Ballarat bowled out Naps-Sebas for 192 in pursuit of 330 at East Secondary College and Ballarat-Redan could only managed 131 in reply to Golden Point's 224 at Eastern Oval.
