Frances Harris and her great-great-grandson Oliver were the centre of attention recently when they were introduced to each other for the first time.
A rare occasion with five generations in the one room – Ms Harris’ son Charlie, grandson Glenn, great-granddaughter Keira and her 12-week-old son Oliver were all there to mark the special occasion.
The 94-year-old said it was a thrill to meet little Oliver.
“It really is quite marvellous,” she said. “Glenn flew down with Keira from Brisbane just so I could meet Oliver and it really is special to have five generations of our family together.”
Glenn Harris agreed the situation was rare.
“Add us all together and there is more than 200 years of our family,” he said.
Frances’ son Charlie said his mother had been in hospital last week after a fall and had begged nurses to let her go home “for a photo shoot with little Oliver”.
