The three councillors, John Philips, Vicki Coltman and Amy Johnson, want Miners Rest residents to be kept informed during the planning process, with the proposed site just outside the township.
Yesterday, Cr Philips was in Miners Rest putting up information posters at the supermarket, post office and hotel.
“The north ward councillors wanted information to be put forward,” Cr Philips said.
“We’ve had a lot of people contact us with a variety of comments.
“Most people seem to want to know where the site is and what the process is.”
The documents also stress the Miners Rest site, between the Western and Sunraysia highways, has yet to be approved but is the preferred option for operators Regional Infrastructure.“This is not a council project, it’s Regional Infrastructure who have to consult with the community before they put in a planning application. They will have to go through the normal process as it should be.”
