Jack began swimming when he was only six months old and said he loves swimming.
He said he knew to save his brother when he saw him under the water in the deep end of their backyard pool.
Jack’s mother said he knew what to do because he started swimming lessons at such a young age.
“Jack loves swimming. He loves everything about it,” Ms Simpson said.
The swimathon is a fundraiser so the YMCA can teach disadvantaged children and adults how to swim. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to swim a few laps.
Jack said he thinks he might do three laps in the deep pool.
“When I’m tired I’ll keep swimming,” he said.
