Last week The Courier readers took some amazing photos of the great colour the sky brings at dawn and dusk.
In one of the mostly contested Appy Hour competitions with more than 30 photos submitted, three pictures were selected as winners with the prize of the DVD ABC TV series A Moody Christmas.
One winner, Mathew Chapple sees the sun rise almost every morning, working nightshift making deliveries.
“I was coming home from work and was passing through Haddon when I saw the sun rise and just thought it was beautiful,” he said.
“I just took a quick picture on my iPhone.”
“It doesn’t look like that every morning – it was just incredible how the colours were bouncing off the clouds.”
Tim Miller, also chosen as a winner, took a shot of the sun setting over Lake Wendouree.
“It was a few months ago – I was just going for a run and stopped for a breather and that’s what it was,” Mr Miller said.
“It was a great evening – it’s good to go for a run at that time of day.”
Eliza Emmlin, a year 12 Damascus College student, is the third winner this week, for her shot of the countryside in Meredith.
“I was carting hay, and we were working late and the sun was setting, and as we headed back to the shed I decided to take out the iPhone and grab a shot,” she said.
