- Andy McKay (Hepburn) - "Hollywood" has been the competition's best player for a while now, but last year he made it official by winning the league best and fairest. Class onballer/forward who can do it all and unstoppable when on song.
- Michael Cummings (Daylesford) - Sensational midfielder who has lightning pace, a booming kick and great footy smarts. A complete package and expect another standout year.
PHOTO N/A: 3 - Dean Kelly (Waubra) - This goal-kicking midfielder comes to Waubra from Vermont with a huge reputation. I know it was in 2006, but captaining the Oakleigh Chargers to the TAC Cup flag, with a best on ground performance in the grand final, just spells class.
- Paul McMahon (Springbank) - The boom pre-season signing is sure to be a star in his first season with the Tigers. Has great aerobic capacity and will cause any number of headaches for opposition defenders.
- Lee Cox (Hepburn) - A brilliant contested mark and accurate kick has made Cox the most feared forward in the competition for a number of years. Season 2013 should be no different for the multiple century goal-kicker.
- Adam Sewell (Newlyn) - The Cats' joint-coach had a standout 2012 campaign, captaining Victoria Country 2 at the country football championships and finished runner-up in the league best and fairest. A hard nut who wins the contested ball.
- Seb Walsh (Daylesford) - There's something special about last year's CHFL Rookie of the Year. Has stacks of ability, maturity above his age and could be one of the sharp improvers for the reigning premiers up forward.
- Tristan May (Newlyn) - Another of the key Cats who had a great 2012 season and can be expected to emulate that this year. No-fuss midfielder who uses the ball extremely well.
PHOTO N/A: 9 - Trevor Johnson (Hepburn) - Gun defender who returns from interstate. Will run and carry off the half-back line and will be a huge asset for the Burras this season.
- Scott Winduss (Daylesford) - Veteran ruckman who is certainly the most influential in the competition. Getting towards the twilight of his career, but is a monster around the stoppages and often gives the Bulldogs first use of the ball.
- Lee Brown (Waubra) - Fitness is always the key with Waubra's star forward, but if he's able to stay in one piece, he's a match-winner of the highest degree. Clever player who just knows where the goals are.
PHOTO N/A: 12 - Marty Dufty (Bungaree) - Quick, skillful half-back who joined the Demons last season. Quickly announced himself as a key player in the competition and is another who looks to have plenty of upside.
- Dan O'Halloran (Hepburn) - A serious knee injury derailed last year's campaign, but a return to the form that saw him finish second in the Geoff Taylor Medal in 2011 can be expected. A small, speedy midfielder who consistently racks up big numbers.
- James Sullivan (Bungaree) - Somewhat of an unknown, but I fancy this bloke will prove to be a standout for the Demons this season. The midfielder arrives at the club after a flag with Tatura in the powerful Goulburn Valley league in 2012. PICTURE: SHEPPARTON NEWS
- Simon Quinlan (Springbank) - The interleague vice-captain has been a wise head for a long time at Tigerland and is one of the more respected players in the competition. Clever user off half-back, who floats through the midfield.
PHOTO N/A: 16 - Tom Eltringham (Springbank). Supremely talented forward who will only benefit from the addition of Paul McMahon to the Tigers forward line. Tall, athletic mover who can kick big bags.
- Alex Code (Creswick) - Follows new coach Len Watson to the club from Castlemaine and will be a big boost to the Wickers' onball stocks. Good whispers around about this guy.
- Sam Turner (Buninyong) - 22-year-old midfielder. Showed he is a potential star in the making with a strong 2012, when he won the Bombers' best and fairest. Knows how to get the footy.
- Ash Munari (Gordon) - Exciting utility who can play a range of roles for the Eagles. Gifted player that usually finds plenty of the footy and I'm expecting another big year.
- Mark Williams (Ballan) - This bloke should be number one. At just 29-years-old, the Hawthorn premiership player is far from washed-up. Despite a mediocre season with the Blues in 2012, he should be ready to fire deep inside attack.
