The event will celebrate the achievements of 65 students completing their final year in either fine art or graphic design.
EYE co-ordinator Claire Blake said the exhibition ranged from digital works, ceramics and photography to drawing, print-making, painting and graphic design.
“The students are really excited, and for some it is the first time they have shown their work,” Ms Blake said.
“It can be a bit scary, but they are excited for their families to come and see what they’ve been doing for the last three years.”
With many of the works available for sale, Ms Blake said the annual exhibition gave art lovers the opportunity to buy student works at reasonable prices.
Final year bachelor of visual arts (fine arts) student Jasmine Barker said she was grateful to have had the past three years to focus solely on her art.
Her work, entitled Cycle Concepts, is composed of a digital montage of videos accompanied by a set of five drawings.
“It’s about the cycle of life and the fact that everything has a beginning and an end but keeps repeating,” Ms Barker said. “My work aims to find peace and acceptance. Its about being in the moment and not being too concerned with what is to come.
“I’m a pastor’s daughter so I grew up as a Christian and the work was inspired from questions that arose from that.”
The exhibition will be open tomorrow from 6pm. For more information, call 5327 8605.
