But model isn’t usually one of them.
The Dean-Newlyn Young Farmers has revealed its bolder side in their “Smokin’ Hot” calendar, which is on sale this Friday.
They are hoping it generates some heat and excites some community spirit.
“The Nathalia Young Farmers produced a calendar for 2013,” young farmer Skye Vermaas said.
“Simone (Pedretti), who is one of our members, saw my calendar hanging on the wall in my house, and she thought we could do it better.
“That was probably about May. We raised it in a meeting in June and people put their hands up straight away.
“Everyone thought it was a great idea. The main thing was being able to raise money to put back into the community.”
Like Skye, Simone is a first-time calendar girl.
“I was a bit reluctant but given it was my idea, I suppose I had to be in it,” she admitted.
“I’ve never done anything like this before. Absolutely not. We were all first-timers.”
While a few of the models might have had second thoughts about the calendar, all were good sports about it when it came to the shoot itself.
“No one was shy,” Skye said. “We thought people would be a bit shy but when it came down it, they were okay.
“Jake Guthrie was not shy at all, he climbed into the creek near his house, while Finlay MacDonald was the least shy I’d say.”
The calendar has pictures of nine club members, split between male and female models. The photo shoots included individual and group shots although there are no “co-ed” pictures.
“We weren’t that brave,” Ms Vermaas admitted.
The launch is at the Cumberland Hotel in Smeaton Friday night, from 8pm. Calendars are $15 or two for $20 for one night only.
